Editorial advisory board
 
Members of the editorial advisory board assist in the selection of issue themes, advise on the general scope and direction of the magazine, and suggest potential features and writers. They also support the magazine by promoting it and encouraging their colleagues in the retirement residence community to contribute to, distribute and read Dialogue.

Laurie Johnston has over 25 years experience in the retirement home industry, both as an owner/operator and regional director for a large chain. A Past-President of Ontario Retirement Communities Association, she is currently a freelance consultant, specializing in operations reviews and sales and marketing initiatives and training.

As Executive Director of a retirement residence and nursing home, the Griffith-McConnell in Montreal, she is opening its doors to the community by offering a number of programs geared to Montreal seniors who still wish to live at home.

Gord has been the CEO of the Ontario Retirement Communities Association since 1998. Prior to joining the ORCA, he was executive director of the Association of Local Public Health Agencies, which represented Ontario's medical officers of health and boards of health. A member of the International Council of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), he is a former chair of the Ontario Health Providers' Alliance.
